A journal on a desk filled with pens, analog photo equipment, and set against a book case background

I love fountain pens, paper, and writing, oh my!

Welcome to my new blog, Pen and Story Teller! This is going to be my new home for all things writing and fountain pens related. Of course, much like my photo blog, there’s going to be a ton of analog over here. I’m sure the world doesn’t need another fountain pen blog, but it sounded like a fun time to me!

I have gotten into the world of analog writing in the past year, or so. I never much enjoyed it until I found fountain pens and nice stationary. What a game changer! Now that I’m proceeding into my late 30s (when did that happen?), I’m excited to share the joys of analog writing with the world. I’m hoping this fountain pen blog will help bring that joy to others.

What you can expect — Fountain pens and more!

A mans hands on a notebook. One hand is writing with a Noodler's Ahab fountain pen in a flex style with blue ink.

This fountain pen blog will obviously contain a ton of fountain pens! I plan to write reviews to share my opinion of different pens, papers, and inks that I have and/or get the opportunity to try. By the time you read this, I should hopefully have at least a couple of reviews posted up. We’ll be starting off with some pens and inks, then probably a notebook review.

I’m also planning to share my journey of re-learning handwriting. Since I’ve come to this hobby, my handwriting has completely changed! I will be sharing things I’ve done to improve my writing, experiments I’m wanting to try, and just fun ideas to get into this journey alongside me.

Lastly, I’ve been working on learning to write fiction. I’ll likely occasionally share blog posts related to that. I’m hoping to eventually finish a novel, but in the mean time, I’m exploring the idea of short stories. I hope to be able to share some with you all here. Hopefully your feedback and readership can benefit us both. Of course, I have been drafting all of my fiction in notebooks with fountain pens! It really keeps me motivated to want to write.

Join me on my journey

Won’t you join me on this journey? I’d love to have you along. We’ll have a blast exploring and learning about the world of fountain pens, stationary, and inks. We’ll find joy in writing stories, journaling, and everything else along those lines. So make sure to bookmark my homepage, subscribe on WordPress, and check in regularly for more content!

Hi there John, it’s nice to be here, great start to your new pen blog. There’s just something about holding a beautifully crafted pen in our hand and creating leagable lines that tie our thoughts together and share our stories.
